Inspired by a recent holiday in Europe and an incredible cable car ride at Aiguille de Midi, Chamonix in France! The power, textures, contrasts of white on dark as the snow covers the sharp rock of these majestic mountains. The flow of melting snow and formation of folds both of snow and mountains. My interpretation tries to capture the details and the overall beauty and diversity. I have applied many layers of paint and incorporated shellac throughout this work. My challenge was to not overwork its composition and not leave out anything of the memory I have of this extraordinary experience.
